Technological expansion at LMI Mixing will contribute to improved raw material processing with the purchase of its new Keyence VHX-1000 Digital Microscope. The VHX Series Digital Microscope is an all-in-one microscope system that can observe, measure, and record all within a single system. This portable microscope integrates advanced imaging with technologically advanced examination functions for quick and efficient raw material examination. With the new microscope, LMI is now able to catalog results for future troubleshooting. The possibilities of contamination and defects are now easily identified and analyzed.
The advanced microscope's design features provide precision and convenience for users. The ease of a motorized lense electronically controls the focus, without the operator touching the stand. High-quality zoom allows for maximum depth-of-fields while still being able to maintain high resolution images (up to 54 million pixels.) The Microscope's programs can generate 3D images and calculate its height data on a measuring line. A built-in flexible lighting system and glare removal tool accommodates bright and dark fields and corrects suppressed intense light reflections on the material. All of these functions improve visibility, batch consistency and will remarkably reduce research and development time and human variation.
LMI's examination of its raw materials is critical to Lauren Manufacturing's success. With this new microscope, any possible contaminations can be identified, allowing no defect to go unnoticed. This process improvement will cut down on LMI's development and production costs, which in turn will benefit Lauren Manufacturing. Furthermore, decreased defects in raw materials will have an incredible impact on Lauren's internal material rejections and production scrap; therefore reducing associated costs. Due to vertical integration with sister company LMI Mixing, Lauren Manufacturing can provide better services and value for each customer.
