Beyond the wide variety of standard rigid and flexible materials to choose from, Lauren Plastics can develop custom materials based on environmental and functional requirements. For example, our engineers have designed a custom formulated TPE for improved durability in extreme temperatures and abrasive environments. These materials are known for their enhanced flexibility and UV properties and can withstand the toughest environments for both indoor and outdoor use. As an alternative to the traditional surface applied low friction coatings, Lauren Plastics has the ability to add a slip coat into the raw material during the extrusion process for a built-in coating result. Unlike typical coating methods that only cover a thin layer of the surface and may wear off during cycling, this embedded slip coat is present throughout the profile and therefore does not wear off allowing for improved longevity and durability.
