NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH – July 13, 2011 – Aultman Hospital, Stark County, Ohio’s first and largest hospital, has chosen NaviGate™ by Lauren Innovations as their primary source for emergency planning and preparation and training. With continued efforts to reinvest and improve facilities and technology, Aultman hopes to boost compliance, enhance safety and security, and train its staff and patients using NaviGate’s secure web-based system.
Disaster can strike anywhere. The recent tornedo activity in Joplin, Mo. sent important hospital documents more than 70 miles from their home at Saint John’s Regional Medical Center. By using NaviGate’s highly secure, controlled access web-based platform, Aultman can create, access, track, and manage all emergency planning and safety information. This will also provide the health system the availability to provide critical access to essential information to emergency responders during an incident. Site and floor plans, emergency response documents, hazardous material location and information will all be accessible by any Internet accessible device. The decision to implement NaviGate will make Aultman one of the first hospitals in the nation to adopt this form of emerging critical information technology.
“The safety of our patients, staff and visitors is Aultman’s number one priority,” said Chris Feller, Aultman safety director. “By working with Lauren Innovations and adopting NaviGate, we are confident we can provide our staff and community first responders the tools necessary for a safe and efficient response. The collaboration further promotes Aultman’s culture of safety and commitment to leading our community to improved health.”
“A great deal has been learned from our tragedies,” commented President of Lauren Innovations, Ben Fierman, Ph.D., and past hospital administrator. “First-responders need immediate access to critical information in a way that is fast, effortless, current, accurate and useful. Businesses have learned that there is vulnerability in having all essential information in places that are at risk during disasters, both man-made and natural. Solutions must deliver information that is secure in a way that is useful the moment it is needed.”
