Color is an absolute must for some projects to be successful. Lauren offers EPDMs and other compounds in colors other than black. Our complete line of silicone capabilities allows Lauren to be creative with our design and production; we have even perfected the application of adhesives to silicone products.
Materials best suited to color matching for both molded and extruded parts include dense silicone products. Other dense materials can be colored, although not as easily. Manufacturers can establish exact color specifications by using colorimeters; however, some colors can be hard to match, such as true reds.
EPDM or silicone sponge materials can be pigmented also, but the skin of the sponge compound makes the colors less vibrant or deep. If you end product requires a very specific color, it is always best to provide the manufacturer with a color sample.
Color matching requires additional development time, depending on the materials selected and the colored pigment required. In general, colored materials cost more than standard black due to the required additional development expense and pigment costs.
